Provide Background Details and Rationale: As a part of the April 2017 No-Tax-Increase Bond issue projects, voters approved the construction of a facility for use by high school students, now known as the LEAD Innovation Center per the recommendation of the Enrollment-Based Long-Range Facility Plan. The district is targeting August 2020 for the opening of LEAD. The location has been set for 68th street and N. Waukomis.

To open by August 2020, construction begins on LEAD in February. This will be the first of several bid packages brought before the Board for approval in the coming months.

Bids were received for the following package, which represents a portion of the overall construction project:

*BP-310 Earthwork

The district received a total of five bids for the bid package. District staff is recommending the bid from the following contractor to perform the work:

*BP-310 Earthwork -- HB Construction -- $969,000
