Park Hill and Park Hill South high school journalism students earned awards at the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association’s Virtual State Journalism Day. Park Hill South senior, Kaitlyn Morris, earned the state’s highest honor for her feature story.

Missouri Interscholastic Press Association’s Marketing Commercial Challenge:
Students from Park Hill and Park Hill South high schools took first and second place in the state for the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association’s Marketing Commercial Challenge.

Park Hill South students Kaitlyn Morris and Talia Garcia took first place for their submission and PHHS students Jake Walter and Haley Kalis took second place for their submission.


Journalism Educators of Metropolitan Kansas City Awards:
Journalism Educators of Metropolitan Kansas City (JEMKC) gave awards to Park Hill School District students at their virtual awards ceremony. JEMKC honored top journalism programs on both sides of the state line.

Park Hill South High School senior Kaitlyn Morris took second place in the metro area for her broadcast feature story, “Home for a Horse Rider.” Park Hill High School seniors Thomas Wineinger and Jake Walter earned an honorable mention for their work on Trojan TV News’ live sports. The Trojan TV News staff from PHHS took third place in announcements and videos.

Addison Barnett, Samantha Bertoncino, Parker Cain, Jayden Dorrell, Andrew Hrisak, Hailey Huebener, Benjamin Jobe, Haley Kalis, Kody Ketchum, Ezekiel Salelow, Tait Smith, Chloe Strickland, Jake Walter and Thomas Wineinger make up the Trojan TV News staff.
