Provide Background Details and Rationale: The District uses two-way radios to communicate in a variety of instances. The current radios are of all different varieties and manufacturers. This purchase will standardize our systems. The new system will allow for district-wide communication in emergency situations and during district events.

District staff evaluated the options for a district-wide system and Motorola was identified to meet our requirements. Commenco is the service provider and distributor for the Kansas City area for Motorola radios.
Provide Funding Source and Estimated Cost: Funding will be provided from the 2021-2022 Maintenance and Operations budget. The total cost is $155,376.73.
