On May 25, 2023, the Board of Education approved Hiland Dairy as the provider of fresh milk, juice, and dairy items for the 2023–2024 school year. The original contract was effective from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, with the option to renew annually for up to four (4) additional one-year terms, not to extend beyond June 30, 2028.
Throughout the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 school years, fresh dairy market prices remained relatively stable. However, the market for fresh juice experienced a historic price increase beginning in May 2024 and continuing through much of the 2024–2025 school year. Current bid pricing for the 2025–2026 school year reflects a significant decline in fresh juice prices.
Nutrition Services recommends the Board approve the renewal of Hiland Dairy as the Park Hill School District’s provider of fresh milk, juice, and dairy products for the 2025–2026 school year. This renewal represents the second of four possible one-year extensions outlined in the original agreement. As stated in the contract, the district reserves the right to rebid this service at any time should the distributor fail to maintain expected pricing, quality, or service levels.
